ARCA's Mission

To improve the quality and length of life for persons with HIV through

  • Treatment research
  • Education for health care providers and patients
  • Access to new therapies

And to PREVENT new HIV infections through

  • Prevention research
  • Prevention education
  • Free HIV/STD testing service

At ARCA, Testing is Free Because of YOU!

Did you know that ARCA offers free HIV testing? Why? Because early diagnosis means early treatment and less spread of infection. You can't benefit from treatment unless you know you have HIV. And having other infections makes it easier to get HIV. Did you know that

  • 25% of persons in the US with HIV do not know they have HIV?
  • Rapid HIV testing means test results are available in less than an hour - with no needle sticks?
  • ARCA offers FREE anonymous HIV testing and counseling?
  • Over 4000 persons have learned their HIV status from ARCA? Nearly half of them had never been tested before!
  • ARCA receives NO GOVERNMENT FUNDING for routine HIV testing?

We provide personalized risk-reduction counseling, education, and condoms to all participants. We test at ARCA daily and at events in the community by request. We sponsor regular testing events at Georgia State University, Spelman, and Morehouse Colleges. The Metro Atlanta Women of Color Initiative (MAWOCI) is ARCA's free, anonymous, rapid HIV testing program designed to be culturally sensitive for women. We would like to add sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing to our services because women in Atlanta have Chlamydia at nearly 4 times the national average. Having an STI increases the risk of getting HIV and is a red flag for unprotected sex.

ARCA Offers Free Testing Services

Because They Are Needed to Stop This Epidemic
...And Just Because It's the Right Thing to Do!
MAWOCI gets NO government funding. We Are Independent. Anonymous. Free. Safe. And Sensitive.
Will You Help Us To Continue Our Work?
